Community Trivia Night Volunteers

It has been on our “dream” list for quite some time, but only after our Hands for Heartland group came into existence were we brave enough to step forward with an attempt at a Community Trivia Night in Ames, starting in Feb. 2007.  With HSS board member Kori Heuss agreeing to help lay a foundation last year and now with five successful Heartland Trivia Nights under our belts, it looks like it will be a continuing fund-raiser for Heartland as well as an opportunity to encourage intergenerational interaction within the community.

Last Friday’s Community Trivia Night involved 20 willing volunteers, including several Hands for Heartland, members of Ames Noon Kiwanis, Ames High Key Club, missionaries from Latter Day Saints,  ISU Women’s Club members, and individual volunteers.

Heartland wants to extend a big thank you to the new Trivia Coordinator Dianne Fales and to Bernie and Linda White (Caption and Mrs. Trivia) for their dedication to this successful fundraiser.  Thanks also to the community who values all ages and generously supports our seniors through Heartland’s programs.
